Metal, Slate & Clay Roofing
Metal Roofing
Metal roofs are also extremely versatile because they can be used on steep slope, low slope, and flat roofs; they come in a wide range of materials and finishes; they provide a designer look. Metal roofing comes in traditional vertical seam or can resemble wood shake, slate, shingles, or clay tiles. They also deliver superior snow, water and airborne debris shedding. Today, many of the metal roofing materials utilize a reflective pigment technology which increased energy efficiency and decreases cost.
If you want a roof that is attractive, durable, non-combustible, lightweight, and has a low life-cycle cost, then a metal roof is the perfect choice!
Slate Roofing
Slate is one of the most beautiful and durable roofing materials known to man. For centuries, it's been the roofing material of choice for the world's greatest buildings. In fact, some slate roofs have lasted for literally hundreds of years, enduring all of the ravages that Mother Nature could throw at them.
And, oh yes, slate roofs are heavy—and expensive—putting them out of the reach of most property owners. Because of this, slate isn't used very often in new construction. But there are plenty of old buildings in the northeast that have slate roofs. M. Rosenblatt Roofing has been dealing with slate roofs since 1929 and is more than qualified to handle any necessary slate repairs!
If you still want the look of slate, without the cost, there are some less expensive alternative. GAF has a product called TruSlate®, which is real S1-grade hand-split quarried slate from North America's finest quarries (not a synthetic imitation). On a traditionally installed slate roof, half of each slate is never seen, because it's tucked under the piece above it. GAF has replaced this wasted slate with a high-tech waterproofing material. With this ingenious design, the TruSlate® System can be installed on almost any roof, at about the same price as imitation plastic slate.
Clay Roofing
Like slate, clay roofing tiles are extremely durable. They can withstand the elements and add natural warmth and permanent beauty. A clay tile roof will often outlast the building that it protects! Clay tiles come in numerous shapes, sizes, and colors. Traditional Spanish and mission style tiles are reminiscent of old Europe. Modern tiles are manufactured to resemble shingles, wood shake, or slate tiles. There is truly a clay tile available to suit every taste.
